Inspirational Women of the Quran: Learning from Female Figures
The Quran is the book of guidance and a source of inspiration for Muslims and mankind. Refuting the common claims of male supremacy in Islam, the Quran upholds the rights, achievements, status, and importance of female figures. From the wives of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to Mother Mary, there are a gazillion women to take inspiration from. We have listed some of these women and the reason for their supremacy as mentioned in the Holy Quran in English – Maryam Maryam, also called Mother Mary by Christians, was a solid figure in Islam. She was the daughter of Imran and the greatest of all time. She gave birth to the prophet Isa (Jesus) whilst staying a virgin. This was indeed a miracle and a blessing that was bestowed upon her by Allah. Maryam (A.S.) is revered as a lady who attained spiritual perfection since Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) included her in that category. She is a woman who shows us all how to have Tawakkul (trust) in Allah and to rely on Him in the most
